What Developer Edition covers

Developer Edition runs against the PostgreSQL that ships bundled with the AGLedger Compose and Helm deployments. Every capability is available: notarization, gating, federation, webhooks, the full chain. Production use is permitted.

Pointing AGLedger at your own managed database — Aurora, RDS, Cloud SQL, or self-managed Postgres — is the Enterprise path. The engine logs a periodic warning when a Developer Edition key runs against an external database. Nothing stops working; it is the line where the Enterprise license, SLA, and support begin.
